BioWare has confirmed that it is not just to measure forces with his light saber, but the space combat will actually be in SWTOR from launch. Some details are not yet available, but it should come as BioWare for October. In the meantime, the original statement by Sean Dahlberg:
If you've been Follo wing the news coming out of the Star Wars ™: The Old Republic ™ panel at Comic-Con International, the announcement you've Heard That We Will Have Space Combat indeed as part of the TOR experience! But What does that mean? Space Combat is an alternative gameplay experience to the primary game of storytelling, questing, and ground-based combat with swtor credits. In space combat, you fly your ship to Various staff "hot spots" on your galaxy map. From there, You Will blast your way through asteroid fields, enemy fighters, Frigate, Destroyers, and a Variety of Other Obstacle That Will evoke memories of Some Of The Great Star Wars ™ space battles.
